Understanding Air Quality Index Levels
On Friday, the minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 18.4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.2 degrees Celsius lower than the normal seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD also forecasts a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius for the day. At 8:30 AM, the relative humidity was noted to be 74 percent.
As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 241, categorizing it as poor.
Understanding Air Quality Index Levels
The CPCB classifies the AQI as follows: 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is satisfactory, 101 to 200 is moderate, 201 to 300 is poor, 301 to 400 is very poor, and 401 to 500 is deemed severe.
